Matt Taylor is confident that the Addicks can do well in their return to the English second tier

Charlton star Matt Taylor hopes that the Addicks can take their momentum from their victorious League One campaign into the Championship.

The likes of Leeds, Bolton, Nottingham Forest and others will all be looking for promotion next term but Taylor believes the south Londoners will be able to hold their own in the second tier.

He said: “We’re going to take every game as it comes [next season], we’re a new team [in the Championship], but we have got quite a bit of momentum behind us after such a good season last year, it’s a big step up but there’s no reason why we can’t hold our own in this league.”
