He may have disappeared from our screens during the latest episode of Doctor Who, but Arthur Darvill can now be seen in a revival show in London’s West End.

Darvill, who played Rory Williams in the BBC One Show, is joined by actors including Laurence Fox and Matthew Lewis in Our Boys.

The play, written by Jonathan Lewis, tells the story of six young soldiers who are passing time as they recover from injuries incurred in the line of duty.

Suddenly, their banter and camaraderie is jeopardised, as a dangerous incident and an act of betrayal result in charges of misconduct looming – and as accusations fly, the fighting really starts.

Set in 1980s Britain, Our Boys is as relevant now as it was in 1993, when it won a Best New Play award for its premiere production. This West End revival comes from the creative team behind the international hit Journey’s End.

Darvill has previously appeared on stage in productions including Doctor Faustus at the Globe and the Royal Shakespeare Company’s Soft Cops.

Fox, who is married to actress Billie Piper, is well known for his role as Detective Sergeant James Hathaway in the ITV prime-time drama series Lewis. On stage he has been in plays including Tis a Pity She’s a Whore and Christopher Hampton’s Treats, and his film work includes Elizabeth: The Golden Age, Gosford Park and WE.

Lewis, who makes his West End debut in Our Boys, is best known for playing Neville Longbottom in the Harry Potter films.

The cast also includes Cian Barry, Jolyon Coy and Lewis Reeves, who also makes his West End debut.

Our Boys is at the Duchess Theatre now for a limited season.
