First-class dance spectaculars take over Dartford’s Orchard Theatre throughout 2017

This year sees more touring dance productions than ever before at The Orchard Theatre. 2017 brings with it an array of dazzling musicals, gripping plays and spectacular dance.

Performances booked for 2017 so far, include:

The New Adventures company have announced that Matthew Bourne’s Early Adventures will return as part of a year-long celebration of work to commemorate the 30th Anniversary of the company. The tour opens at the Dartford theatre from February 20 to 22.

In Early Adventures Mr Bourne returns to his roots with a programme of hit pieces that launched his career and saw the birth of the style, wit and sheer entertainment that have become hallmarks of the New Adventures company today.

The cast includes: Reece Causton; Tom Clark; Daniel Collins; Sophia Hurdley; Mari Kamata; Jamie McDonald and Edwin Ray as well as Joao Carolino and Paris Fitzpatrick who are making their New Adventures debut.

Brendan Cole Live Tour All Night Long is strictly the hottest ticket in Dartford on February 23. These are no sit back and watch productions as each show is full on high energy dance dynamite, up close and personal, with scintillating guest dancers and a scorching 14 piece band and singers with a superb choreography, stunning lighting, and amazing special effects.

The audience get to see every style of ballroom and Latin dance from Brendan Cole and his hand-picked champion-ship dancers (each new production features a different cast) performed to the music and songs of some of the greatest legends and contemporary artistes.

Arriving direct from London’s West End, Argentine dance sensation German Cornejo’s Tango Fire returning on February 25 to take audiences on an explosive journey through this seductive art form.

International tango superstars German Cornejo and Gisela Galeassi are joined by a cast of talented couples, including several World Tango Champions and the best dancers from Buenos Aires’ famous tango houses, each chosen for their individual style and interpretation of the genre. Tango Fire encompasses all that defines Argentine tango: dancing which sizzles with sensuality, accompanied by the unforgettable music of the great tango masters including Piazzolla, Pugliese and Gardel, performed by live band Quarteto Fuego and vocalist Jesus Hidalgo.

Mr Cornejo and Ms Galeassi have been performing together since 2010. They have mastered the skills of Argentine tango passed on by Argentina’s most respected teachers, and have gone on to extend the boundaries of tango by incorporating classical dance, contemporary dance, jazz, ballet and acrobatics. German and Gisela became World Tango Champions in 2003 and 2005, and have collectively won forty gold medals at national tango competitions.

Their performances have received critical acclaim all over the world including the USA, Canada, Europe, Asia, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. Since its formation in 2005, Tango Fire has become a global phenomenon and the world’s leading tango company.
