Hairspray, Spirit of the Dance, and Chaz and Dave are among acts performing

This September, Dartford’s Orchard Theatre has a variety of shows on offer to capture audiences of all ages including Open House, Hairspray, Spirit of the Dance, Tap Factory, Jethro, and A Judgement In Stone.

The international smash hit musical comedy Hairspray is coming to Dartford from Wednesday August 30 – Saturday September 9.

The cast includes Matt Rixon (Cinderella), Norman Pace (Hale and Pace) Brenda Edwards (The X Factor) Layton Williams (Billy Elliot), Rebecca Mendoza and Jon Tsouras (A Chorus Line). Featuring the hit songs Welcome To The 60s, You Can’t Stop The Beat, and The Nicest Kids in Town.

Some Guys Have All The Luck will celebrate the career of one of rocks greatest icons Rod Stewart on Sunday September 10.

The show includes all the massive hits like Maggie May, Baby Jane and Da Ya Think I’m Sexy through to big ballads such as Sailing, You’re In My Heart, and Tonight’s The Night.

The hit Spirit of the Dance celebrates its 20 year anniversary and will be returning from September 11-16.

Irish in origin this show combines Irish Dance with Latino rhythms of Flamenco and Red Hot Salsa in a production of strength and passion.

They pioneered the ‘Rockney’ genre with their blend of memorable songs, humour, and rock’n’roll and having recently released the critically acclaimed That’s What Happens, their first studio album in 27 years, Chas and Dave are back on the road and will be in Dartford from September 17.

Tap Factory is a show featuring urban tap dance, percussion, comedy and acrobatics visiting from September 18.

Jethro - Bull & Bonkers Tour on September 19 will be an evening of hysterical nonsense. Take a peek into the circus lurking deep within the mind of Jethro, the comic storyteller. Jethro beguiles and befuddles his audience with the endless stream of irreverent twaddle.

Think Floyd are known for their celebration Pink Floyd and have over 20 years’ experience faithfully recreating the legendary sound live on stage. They’ll be making their way back to the Orchard Theatre’s stage on September 20.

Get ready for an evening of entertainment and dining at The Big Pink Ball on September 23.

This charity event raises money for Breast Cancer Now. With music, comedy, a raffle and charity auction, the evening promises to be a great experience for everyone. Enjoy a glass of bubbles and canapés followed by a three-course dinner and a disco until 1am.

On September 24 The Songs That Won The War will offer a journey through wartime Britain which revives the melodies that filled the airwaves during the time, with a patriotic energy. With a series of authentic costumes, complemented by a backdrop of original film footage of life and events from the era, a story is told which depicts the courage and community spirit that kept the nation strong.
