The festival starts on Monday

A week-long arts festival bringing together theatre shows, public workshops and showcase opportunities comes to Chatham next week.

Paint the Town Festival is back for its third season, this time at the Brook Theatre in Chatham.

The festival will start on Monday, October 23, with a live performance from award-winning singer Jayne Snow, followed by a performance from inclusive arts organisation, Look Kloser.

The festival continues with brand new shows and reworked performances from London’s Battersea Arts Centre including, Almost Always Muddy; An interactive adventure for little ones and their families, the sell-out show Ross & Rachel centred around the Friends couple, and Castle Builder; a musical journey about the creativity of famous and infamous architects performed by internationally renowned performer Kid Carpet and Vic Llewellyn.

For music lovers - Kid Carpet will perform his children’s show Super Mega Rockin’ Rock Show on Saturday, October 28, while The Opera House Next Door will perform a cross between the Crystal Maze and grand opera.

There will also be daily lyrical lunch performances in the foyer space.

The festival will be hosting daily crafts workshops, talks and taster workshops for all ages in partnership with Medway Adult Education, along with a handmade craft fair, performances and workshops specifically for kids, facepainting and much more.

Paint the Town festival runs from October 23 to October 29.
