A stunt performance team will be showcasing their skills in Ramsgate next week.

The Drop and Roll Tour will be the centre-piece of a free family event, Spring Spectacular, on the Bank Holiday Monday, May 29, at Government Acre.

Event visitors will see choreographed bike stunts, including transitions, jumps and technical trials riding with commentary.

Danny MacAskill, a stuntman from Drop and Roll team, said: “Expect lots of hops, gaps, jumps and flips and loads of fun.

“I try to ride almost every day. Sometimes we ride together as a team and then others I ride solo listening to music through my headphones to help me get creative and learn new things.

“For me it all started after seeing some displays in magazines. After I saw this I would modify my old mountain bikes to make them as suitable as possible for trials riding - a type of bike stunts.

“Over the years, I have had a few broken bones. My most common break would have to be my collarbone. I have broken it four times.”

Visitors to the event will get the chance to scoop an Inspired Flow Plus 24 inch street bike which is the top raffle prize in the day.

The Spring Spectacular, being organised by the Defence of the Nation Museum, will also feature a display with Otto the helicopter, a Spitfire and Hurricane flyover, trade stalls and a kids zone which will feature children’s rides, face painting and fun activities.

It will run from 11am to 5pm, and tickets should be purchased on the door.
