POP princess Pixie Lott has added another gong to her awards cabinet by winning a charity showbusiness award.

The former student of Italia Conti in Chislehurst was handed the Caron Keating Breakthrough Talent Award at The Varity Club's 57th Annual Showbiz Awards last Sunday. This is the latest award bagged by the Bromley-born Mama Do singer after winning an MTV European Music Award earlier this month.

The ceremony, which took place at Grosvenor House Hotel in Park Lane will be broadcast on Five this Sunday at 3.35pm. Other winners included X Factor judge Simon Cowell, Old Vic Aristic Director Kevin Spacey and Sir Ian McKellen. Guests included Ben Kingsley, Alesha Dixon, Alan Carr, Dame Kelly Holmes, Patrick Stewart and Spandau Ballet. The Variety Club is one of UK's longest running children's charities dedicated to sick, disabled and disadvantaged children and young people, which this year celebrates its Diamond Jubilee.
