SCHOOLCHILDREN who rescued a runaway dog have been praised by the pet's relieved owner.
Dennis Moor, of South Walk, Coney Hall came home last week to find his Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. Tommy, had escaped from the house.

Dennis and his son Andrew began a frantic search for the 14-month-old pup and eventually found him at the park with five pupils from All Saints School, Layhams Road. Charlie Osbourne had made a makeshift lead with her school tie. She and friends Elisha Goldring-Wells, Micha Riley, Dilan Kurnaz and Tim Zandu had stopped Tommy running into the road.
Hospital chaplin Mr Moor said: "It was very kind of them. It was easy to recognise him when we got to the park because Cavaliers don't walk in a straight line, they do figure eights! Obviously we thanked them at the time but I also called the school to say thank you. It's nice to hear a good story."
Bromley police school's officer PC John Blackman has notified the RSPCA of the students' actions, and the charity is hoping to give them an award.
South East Regional spokeswoman, Klare Kennett said: "It's great that they were able to step in and help this dog, and that they managed to save it and take sensible action.
"It's fantastic to see young people putting animals first and thinking about their welfare."
