Signage staff drop their Hs

01 July 2009
MOTORISTS who worked up a thirst in the scorching heat while on their way to an air fair may have been tempted to follow this sign hoping to find a trough of water.

This picture, taken by eagle eyed reader Nikki Tinkler, shows one lane directing drivers to the Biggin Hill Air Fair and one for so-called 'Trough Traffic'.

She joked: "This amusing traffic sign was directing motorists to either the air fair itself, or onwards to, presumably, an al fresco, fast-food picnic area?"

The spelling blunder was made by sign makers in Northampton working for the fair's organisers Air Displays International.
